This program expects to provide the health promotion and prevention services access to the families.
Three great areas encompass this objective at the Foundation:
Bread for my brother
This strategy consists of providing grocery bags with basic market basket products, which are donated by the parishioners in our areas of influence. These grocery bags are then distributed among the families enrolled in the foundation, who are requested to participate in workshops that open spaces to reflect on family issues. This project also stimulates the solidarity among the families at the slopes, as they invite the most needed neighbor to receive a grocery bag and participate in the solidary meeting Bread for My Brother, which provides reflection, personal growth and closeness to the Foundation.
A healthy diet is associated to other activities, such as: food preparation workshop with housewives and educational presentations on food-related subjects, not only at physical but also at spiritual level, as well as the parental role regarding nutrition.
Breakfast is offered daily to improve nutrition among students at the public educational institutions.
The children who participate on a daily basis in the complementary education activities and processes receive a snack-dinner, in order to improve their nutrition and stimulate good hygiene habits and good table manners among them.
Promotion of healthy habits
It teaches and follows up on infant habits, such as tooth brushing three times a day, chew with a closed mouth, table manners and thanking God for the food received.
The PAF families have access to a general healthcare professional at the Foundation’s facilities throughout the year; health journeys and awareness and overall prevention campaigns are carried out as well.
